From 19 to 22 September 2023, décor and furniture were welcomed in the finest setting any fair could hope for: the city of Valencia.
The international furniture, lighting and décor show once again delivered on its promise. All of Spain, from north to south, came to present its furniture — as individual makers or as professional groupings. Whether through workshops, conferences, design- and architecture-school competitions, or the stands themselves, a warm and lively atmosphere prevailed.
Over the years the Valencia fair has gained standing, opening itself to new markets. Regarded as one of the most important events in the world of interior design and furnishing, Hábitat has established itself as unmissable within the Spanish landscape. From the heart of Spain’s furniture industry — the Valencia region, and in particular the provinces of Valencia and Castellón — the sector gathers around the ANIEME association, which organises this great showcase. A long furniture-making tradition becomes a living framework in which manufacturers broaden their product ranges by calling on leading designers to modernise their styles.
The furniture show is annual, with a committed organiser who also owns the venue. Strategically located at the intersection of the region’s main transport routes, it benefits from modern infrastructure — several exhibition halls, conference rooms and service facilities — offering every necessary convenience.
Visitors enjoy a comfortable, pleasant experience. Whether one comes to order furniture, lighting, textiles or décor items, the show lets you get straight to the point. Without being vast, the central hall is arranged as a dining and meeting point, furnished by FAMA in a spirit inspired by the great artists of the world.
Indeed, the show’s distinguishing feature is the presentation of innovative designs, whether at the study stage or fully realised.
New materials and cutting-edge technologies have advanced the furniture industry, despite it being run largely by family-owned structures. In addition to the parallel conferences and exhibitions, the press room was never empty, building an international network among journalists. Every year Feria Hábitat Valencia welcomes professionals — retailers, wholesalers, architects and designers alike. Yet families can also be seen strolling the aisles before deciding on the furniture for their homes.
A FAMA outpost, Famaliving, has already opened in Gueliz, Marrakech — a high-quality boutique for those who love to cocoon at home in absolute comfort.
